Founded by Lukas and Philipp, old high-school friends and Mexico admirers, CANO is an ethical, sustainable footwear label with a clear vision – promote Mexican craftsmanship and introduce high-quality handcrafted huaraches as a stylish, ethical and sustainable alternative to fast fashion.
All the models are handmade in Mexico by artisans using locally sourced, vegetable-tanned leather and maintaining the weaving technique of the traditional sandal with its roots in the Aztec culture. The result is a combination of traditional huarache styles with contemporary elements that give the shoes a modern look – all while striving for a zero waste production and fair working conditions.
